On & On & ON

On & On & On... Yes its the name of an ABBA hit, but it also describes the Proclaimers, Craig & Charlie.. Their careers and dedication to music has continued since the mid 80s and today they are still as popular if not more than ever. These likeable lads from Leith continue to draw huge crowds no matter where they perform and their fans lap up every song. When 500 miles was released worldwide in 1988, l was just a young woman and wow l thought who are these geeky guys from Scotland with the horn-rimmed glasses but after rushing out and purchasing Sunshine on Leith l was hooked just like everyone, man, woman, and child. The boys have produced many Albums over the years and lm the first to admit that l really didn't follow them too much until recently, it was when “Im On My Way” popped up on my Spotify and l was taken back to the 80s and thought l should add their play list to my Library, and wow, it was love in an instant, why had l been waiting for so long to get aquatinted with the loveable Scotts again, but things happen when they are meant to, so l embraced their music again and have not looked back.

I sat there singing along to their catchy songs from the past, my daughter had left the room by that time with her hands over her ears, l was singing at the top my my voice and dancing around the kitchen table, enjoying the old and the sounds of new and then it crossed my mind, where are Charlie & Craig are they still around. l hadn’t really heard anything about them for years, so music blaring, red wine in one hand and the other on my keyboard google searching. To my delight l found out they were still around, fit and healthy a little older, but aren’t we all, and on the verge of an Australian / New Zealand Tour.. Hmm l wondered would there still be tickets available and blow and behold yes two tickets in the eighth row from the front, talk about the luck of the Irish.. The rest is History and now lm happy to admit.. hello Im Kitty and lm an addict!
